Why Should We Recycle?

I recycling, this is my choice and my duty as enforced by local government.

The good news is that the amount of packaging on my weekly shop, currently far more serious than my other household waste and is therefore suitable for recycling. The bad news is, of course, that we households have to pay taxes for this item to recycle the waste and to collect. The Government are also considering the introduction of fines for those households not recycle adequately.

If the government, the public pays for recyclables are collected and recycled, then make sure to take responsibility for all such waste in the houselder, but Householder really? If not, then?

The manufacturers, are the ever-increasing amount of packaging waste, to all goods are to blame. We could say that the producers and consumers simply meeting demand, but the reality is simply that if they do not, we can not buy. But we will buy whatever it is, regardless of minimum packaging We want the contents.

So why the consumer is liable for this waste problem and do not pay a single time (buying the goods), but all these twice for packaging. We pay for it produced, and we pay for them to eliminate of.

Why not only the world's powers, legislation to prohibit the manufacturers of packaging excess capacity?

Alternatively the government could manufacturers the cost of disposal. The manufacturer would then of course, the fee to the public about their pricing. BUT, to be competitive certainly some Bright Spark would begin the introduction of minimally packaged goods and then we consumers really have a choice. Either we pay much more for environmentally damaging packaged goods or pay less for environmentally friendly packaging ones.

What do you think?

Recycling in Your Office Break Room

Recycling office does not need to stop at the desk or printer. The office lounge is a treasure trove of ways to improve your company's carbon footprint. The amount of trash that can accumulate, even from an office of twenty people can make a major impact on resources.

There are a variety of materials that can be recycled. Start with drinking container. Think about how many cans of soda purchased from the living room machine. It is reasonable to imagine that at least a small box containing aluminium cans could be collected on a daily basis. At the end of a week, you had a considerable amount of aluminum could be diverted. Then there are the plastic bottles and paper milk cartons. All these points must be separated and recycled. A separate bin for all these materials can easily be in the lunchroom. The container will cost very little to buy, and a few large signs posted in the lunchroom, it costs very little, so good. If your company does not already have a recycler to haul the items away, prices are very competitive. The community can already provide recycling bins, for an additional fee.

There is another way to waste, in the lunchroom. Employees should be encouraged to buy or bring waste-free lunch. Reusable containers can be used instead of throwaways. Many companies consider paper plates in their lunchrooms. But if it is a sink, reusable dishes can be used, washed and the individual employees. Some companies have even dishwashers, in their lunchroom. This should include cups, coffee cups and silverware. These objects can be easily washed and stored, and an enormous amount of waste would be diverted from garbage bins, landfills, and finally, our soil and water resources.

Another through recycling, the lunchroom composting. Think of all the food waste that goes into office trashcans. Embassies and the remains could easily divert to a composting bin. This mulch can be in office for landscape and gardening.

Recycling waste from the office break room could have a significant impact on our environment. An office of twenty people potentially could divert more than 5000 leftover lunch of soda cans, plastic containers, and so on. We just have to imagine how much waste large companies could recycle.

Using a rating system from 1 to 5, with 5 the most positive and 1 the least, lunchroom recycling can be evaluated on the following levels:

4 - Cost -- Lunchroom recycling costs would be relatively low. It is foreseeable that there are some costs involved, including the purchase of recycling bins, and possibly the purchase plates, cutlery and cups to prevent, with throwaways. The purchase of an office dishwasher is not really necessary, unless it is a great company.

2 - Cost savings - The cost savings in the amount of lunchroom recycling would also be minimal. This type of recycling would be undertaken, particularly for the benefit of the environment. The only potential money saved would reduce the purchase of paper and plastic plates cups.

3 - Ease of Implementation - A rating of 3 seems logical. It would be very difficult to get employees to such a recycling program. But it would take some time to get used to, and to get rid of old habits. It may take some memories and memos.

5 - the impact on our environment - This type of recycling program includes various types of recycling materials. Basically, the potential for a very positive impact on our environment is infinite.

Average = 3.5 of 5

A Common Sense Solution

Two days before the meeting of the organizers distributed flyers to every house in our neighbourhood. The topic was about waste management. Should be interesting, I thought, so I went ermaigt to participate in the designated date and time. It must have eighteen or nineteen of us present, if I am not mistaken.

The resource man was in his early 20-.

He talked about garbage, recyclable garbage, non-recyclable materials, toxic waste, composting, was mildly etc.

I irritated when he kept on mentioning his Barangay (village), as they could to secure the cooperation of residents and managed their waste, as they would be able to extend their Barangay Clean, and as they won awards in terms of their performance and the support they received from the various business establishments located in their vicinity.

But I continued to listen and kept my mouth closed, finally gave way to mild irritation intrigue, so I raised my hand, "Where is this Barangay You mention?" and he replied: "It's in Cebu, it means Barangay Luz. Then, he showed us slides of his Barangay . It was clear to me then he spoke about his neighbourhood with pride.

He then to discuss and explain their solution to their garbage problem.

Segregation is an essential factor in fact, what the men collect garbage is reduced by around 20% -- 30%. And they, the residents themselves to earn money only by the management of their ordnungsgema disposed of. It was at this point that the young man led us to vermiculture . In short, they use worms to process their organic waste. .. and sell the by-product as organic fertilizer. No wonder various LGU or local authorities take the time and effort to learn from them and repeat their success.

The Changing Climate of 2008 - The Global Warming Reality

It was widely reported that global warming is official, said this at a meeting of mind in France. This means that mankind CO2 discharges cause the atmosphere to warm up, and if further heating the atmosphere could cause serious climate change.

However, recent studies show that the atmosphere has actually cooled since 1988 and in fact in 2008 there will be one of the coldest in several decades. Further, many of the top scientists are now climatologist stating that global warming is simply not real, some go so far as to say it's a bunch of hot debate is air.

This will be further strengthened with the fact that Al Gore received a Nobel - prize for his docu-drama "Inconvenient Truth". If global warming is really wrong and Al Gore won the Nobel Prize for his work then this is a blotch in the scientific community.

A few years, a survey has been around the public and more than 80% of respondents believed that global warming was real, now a recent study shows that 60% of the population in the United States does not believe that global warming is a fact. A large part of this is no doubt due to the heavy hands headlines in the mass media in previous years and less, since then, due to the election this year headlines.

Does mean global warming is no longer "official" and if there are no longer official this means we are all snowed? Does this mean that the ice does not melt and the oceans will not rise and general chaos in all human cultures is no longer matter? If global warming is very similar toY2K? How does anyone know what is real?

Saving Our Planet Tips - While Saving You Tons of Money?

Do you throw garbage on the ground in your home? Do you disregard the things you have in your home? I am quite sure you answered no to these two questions, at least, I hope you did.

Then why I ask you, do you think so many people have such complete disregard for our planet? If you remember, the earth is our home too.

This issue has been so clearly that governments are now measures to help emissions and pollution. One of the contributors to graten to carbon dioxide (CO2) vehicles. On average, a household with two medium-sized cars emit about 20000 pounds of carbon dioxide. Graer vehicles tend to produce up to 40% more emissions than a regular Grae car.

Heat-trapping pollution from vehicles overnight in the atmosphere for several decades, until about a century. For example, some emissions from the Ford Model TS-1912 are still up in the atmosphere today, the thickening blanket of greenhouse gases, the warming of the earth.

population growth has contributed to more cars on the road, and a strong economy has led to more cars per driver. These trends in conjunction with poor gas mileage means that we are facing a dangerous situation, we are killing our planet for our own convenience. We will by the resources of our planet is melting like ice in the hot sun, very quickly. It wont be long before we start to see big jumps in the price wait .. oh, already happening.

So do what we do about it? The first priority was done, as you read is to spread awareness. What can you do to help you ask? Each even the smallest thing can help:

* Turn off the lights when you leave a room.

* Do not leave the water running.

* Recycle everything you can

* fleet more frequently.

* Walk more.

* Plant a tree or a garden.

* Participation in garbage pick ups.

I have recently been doing research on renewable energy sources by the rise in electricity prices. Everyone should start at least the possibility of such renewable resources, because, knows when the time will come that the average Joe will not be able to afford a simple luxury like electricity. I would for a deal too good, so I have the first step and research begun. Renewable energy will help save our planet, and the money in our bank accounts. I know I will not be caught in the dark, do you?

Reusable Bags Or Plastic Bags - The Choice is Yours

One environmental alarm on the world ...

The Americans cast nearly 100 billion plastic bags each year, and only 1 to 3 percent recycled.

The disadvantages of bags

Plastic plastic bags are not biodegradable. They clog waterways, spoil the landscape, and end up in landfills, where they can 1000 years or more to break into ever smaller particles, which continue to pollute soil and water.

Plastic bag a serious problem, the animal kingdom. Birds and marine animals creatures often mistake plastic bags for food. We are losing thousands of marine animals as they die after swallowing or choking on plastic bags discarded. The production of plastic bags requires million liters of oil that could be used for transportation.

The problem with plastic bags does not begin when they become waste. Damage caused during their manufacture. The bags are made from petroleum derivatives from petroleum, a non-renewable fossil fuels. Its production causes of air pollution caused by factories, along with all the other problems associated with the use of oil.

But can be found on some things to help your environment:

1. Recycle your plastic bags: If at the end with plastic bags and to make sure that they recycle. Many stores now collect plastic bags for recycling.

2. Switch to reusable shopping /grocery bag: This reusable bags are made from renewable resources conservation of resources by replacing paper and plastic bags. Reusable bags are convenient and come in a variety of Graen, shapes and materials. If you're not with these bags, you can fold or roll as they are small enough to easily into your pocket.

Today, many shops, including grocery stores and book shops are selling reusable bags in the check-out as an alternative to plastic bags. You can also find some "green" sites and stores that sell environmentally friendly reusable grocery bags are bags.

Reusable a growing trend, and rightly so. It is estimated that more than 500 billion plastic bags are purchased by consumers worldwide each year, and these plastic bags take thousands of years to decompose. Since the plastic in landfills decomposes, it releases of toxic particles are absorbed into the ground and in streams and rivers, poisoning fish and plants. The toxins also soak in agricultural areas, where they are in our food chain.

How is Recycled Paper Made?

With the rising cost of gas is always so much attention we are beginning to take a more serious look at our environment. Everyone has heard the term "recycled paper" But how many of us really know what that means? Here is a brief explanation of how recycled paper is made.

In very simple words, recycled paper is much the same way as brand, Virgin paper. The basic difference in the paper was used previously and reuse or recycling is that the used or waste paper must first cleaned.

1) Collection. or recycled waste paper collected through the collection or recycling centers. It is then sorted by grade and paper mills for recycling paper process.

2) Breaking it down. is waste paper in large vats of water and chemicals are added. This mixture is stirred by large racket to separate the paper fibers, which then forced through a screening process for the removal of contaminants from the large crushed fibers. The remaining mixture or pulp, as it is now called in a centrifuge that spins mushy mixture separate the dense or even more unwanted foreign objects from the mix.

3) washing clean. Fast clean, Is it time to remove the ink from the pulp in a process called de-inking. This is similar to how your clothes. Wash-called surfactants are added to wash the pulp and air injected that causes bubbles to float by mixing the ink with him. The resulting foam coating removed from the tip to leave the now cleaned and deinked pulp behind. If necessary, further bleaching may be asked, even white paper.

4) remixing. At this point, the recycled fibres can be added to new or virgin wood fibers, if desired. You will notice that recycled paper is often labeled as 100% recycled paper with a certain percentage of post-consumer waste. Pre-consumer waste is material that was discarded before the product of the way to the consumer and scrap of paper-making process in the paper factory. Post-consumer waste material discarded after they used the consumer, such as old newspapers. Mixing post-consumer wood and natural fibers guarantees a strong paper bond.

5) make the paper. The mixture is now ready to be in the paper would be like if it completely new fibers. The pulp is mixed with water and chemicals and refined by a fast moving screen, allowing water to drain. A number of roles and felt heated metal roller force more water from the mixture, which is almost looks like paper behind. A coating may be added at this point adding that a certain surface on paper, like a shiny or matte coating, for example. The final paper is then wound in huge rolls.

The next time you see the recycled or chasing arrows symbol on paper products have a much better understanding of the process that went into the manufacture of this product. You might also be interested in, noticed the percentage of post-consumer fibers. paper products such as holiday - Maps printed in the rule that the information on the back of the card. Take a look and do your part by the recycling of your post-consumer products and through the purchase of products on recycled paper paper.

Why Our Public Drinking Water Treatment Systems Are Not Safe to Drink and What You Can Do About It

Despite the fact that there are rules in place for our public drinking water, the water is not safe to drink. The Environmental Protection Agency knows that, because they are the ones who are overseeing the treatment centers. The EPA has made efforts to educate people about the dangers that they face when tap water to drink, and the options that they are likely have.

You have an understanding of what your options are. You can boil your water to make it clean, you can buy water in bottles, or you invest in a water purification plant. The crucial point is that no matter which option you choose, you'll have something to do to victims of toxins in your tap water water.

The public drinking water systems are very limited in their ability to provide us with clean drinking water. The equipment that they are simply not efficient to do the job, is invited.

Even when chlorine disinfection has done much good in liberate us from the threat of grate part of the shipping serious diseases, parasites, there is still that, despite the chlorine.

These microbes such as cryptosporidium, do pose a threat to the public . However, the risk graer than for some it is for others.

For most of us, these parasites will only cause some intestinal complaints, but also for the very old, very young, or for people with impaired immune systems, they could spell checker big trouble. These people must take the initiative, is a precautionary drinking water purification.

The EPA states that people with health problems such as AIDS, cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy and those on the transplant medications can make additional precautions "to their security. They will not publicly commit to the fact that there are serious problems with our drinking water, but at least their proposal is a start.

If you believe that you "may" want to follow the advice of the EPA, further pointed out that the use of a Drinking water purification system that uses a sub-micron filter unit to the case of cryptosporidium cysts, as well as others, "may" reasonable.

However, it is not recommended that you use bottled water, unless you first with the bottler to clear the water treatment systems that they use.

If not the bottler uses a water purification system that uses sub-micrometer Technology, or will not commit to whether the technology is used or not, then purchase that the company's products. -- The water in bottles is not required by the EPA any safer than tap water. It is only required to be "as safe", which is nothing for you as far as your health is concerned.

There are many problems, the EPA recognizes that in view of the way drinking water treatment systems to handle our water, but they will only go so far as to say that we "may" want to protect us. This is very nice of them to take that level of responsibility, is not it?

Hopefully, let us assume that the responsibility for yourself and your family. , and the high quality home water purification system that you need and deserve.

The situation in Canada is not better, after the Canadian Medical Association. A figure is estimated that more than 21000 Canadians will die from air pollution. The situation will get worse in the coming years come.

Nobody immune and no community is safe from Air Pollution Effects. There is no doubt now about the devastating effects of air pollution on the health of the U.S.. In addition, from now until 2031, 7000000 Americans will die from chronic long-term exposure, year after year to air pollution. People are dying mostly from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, 42% and 11% respectively.

People over 65 years old are particularly affected. In this year alone in this segment population counts for 80% of premature deaths. Given the trend of an ageing population, it means that there will be a significant increase in the future of the health damage of air pollution. It is also an increase for children and babies with sensitive health exposed to air pollution. Serious consequences of Air Midwest POLLUTION

The population, where the heavy industry, and the population of large cities like New York, will grate the proportion of premature deaths and severe air pollution. Rural areas are also affected, because the air pollution dumped in these areas through the wind. In this death increases, other deplorable consequences can be predicted. For example, it is estimated that 180000 people suffer from air pollution are to hospitals, an increase of 62% in the last 20 years and for the same period for the increase of people over the age of 65 reach102% .

A truthful Evidence that the situation is that about 6.000,000 visits to doctors in 2008 are related to the exposure of air pollution. This figure should have 9000000 by the year 2031, when the air quality remains the same during this time, this is without mentioning the increase in the emergency Rooms.

ECONOMIC COSTS

For 2008, the economic costs are estimated at 100 billion should be allocated to to 3000 billion by the year 2031, according to the model of ICAP (illness costs and air pollution). It is now clear that the climatic changes have a direct impact on public health and that air pollution should be addressed with adequate public policies.

AVAILABLE Health Solutions According to Dr. Becky Natrajan, a famous American gastroenterologists, the only appropriate way to alleviate this catastrophic effects of air pollution on our health food is clean. Body Cleansing in an internal level is a hot topic, and for good reasons. Body Cleansing is more necessary than ever, because we live in a very toxic world: air pollution, herbicides, petrochemicals, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, food additives, synthetic drugs, etc. .. Body cleansing is much more necessary because these toxins can have adverse effects on our cells, internal organs and state of health. In the past year more than 20 million pounds of antibiotics were injected in our farm animals.

Body cleaning is more than necessary, because many insecticides and pesticides have become part of our food pyramid and these harmful chemicals are mixed with fruits and vegetables. We are a chronic exposure to harmful substances. Finally, body cleansing is necessary because our soil is poisoned with chemicals and air pollution and food are constantly stripped of its nutrients, especially minerals-optimally. The body is nutritionally bankrupt an invitation to illness and disease. A nutritional cleansing program was developed by Isagenix and it really works. Bowtrol Natural cleaning is also very effective.Take action, your health is the first priority. Click on the links below and learn more about it.

How Do Pharmaceutical Drugs Get in Drinking Water? Recent Probe Finds Drugs in Drinking Water

If They are like most people these days you probably ask, how can one drug in drinking water? Why are we now see stories like "probe finds drugs in drinking water" in an almost daily occurrence? There are many reasons and we will some of them in this article. We will also discuss some possible health consequences.

There are 3 main options get medication in drinking water.

1) If a person a pill a part of the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream. Whatever it is not absorbed through their system and flushed the toilet. Sewage is treated before being released into rivers, lakes and reservoirs. The only problem is, many water treatment facilities are not set up to remove drugs.

2) How many prescription drugs expire people only flush the toilet. This is up to a quantity of drugs in the water system.

3) A quantity of drugs at the end into the water supply due to the extensive Animal Farm expire. Almost every animal that is used for foods, including dairy cows are pumped full of antibiotics and other drugs that eventually work their way into our water supply.

The reason we see so many probe finds drugs in drinking water stories, because it is always a serious Health hazard concern. Many believe it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Some of drugs in our drinking water are pain medications, drugs to fight infections, high cholesterol drugs, epilepsy, and drugs for mental illness. A number of probes were sex hormones, birth control drugs, and the mood stabilizer is a carbamazenine

No deny that the amount of drugs in drinking water is small, but a lot is not good. The long-term effects of drinking water with several combinations of drugs may have catastrophic consequences. Some officials believe that tens of thousands of deaths may already have drugs and other toxins into the water supply. Studies have shown the effects on animal and human cells rather alarming.

Assistant administrator for water at the EPA grumbles Benjamin said: "We know that there is a growing problem, and we take them very seriously." Do not think you are immune, because you only drink mineral water. Many companies bottled water with normal tap water. -- The water in bottles, has few rules and not test their water.

The same goes for some water purifiers. Just do not get the job done. To ensure adequate protection you need a dual-filter system with a combination of activated carbon filtration, ion exchange and sub-micron filtration. These types of filters protection.

Hopefully great, if someone asks you how to get medication in drinking water, you can say them.

In conclusion of drugs as safe drinking water you have to take action itself and not rely on the government to help. Serious consideration, employs a water filter that a dual-filter system with a combination of activated carbon filtration, ion exchange and sub-micron filtration.

Cleaning Green - Easy Tips to Help the Environment While CleaningAround the House

Cleaning my house is one of the most hated points on my to-do list. Laundry service, flat fee, dishes, wiping dust, you name it, I hate it. Add to hatred, I am allergic to most store bought cleaning products. To clean my house, I had to learn without having to clean glass cleaner and bathroom /kitchen cleansers.

The two points I use most are baking soda and distilled white vinegar. You can get almost anything with these 2 points. They can be used as stain removers, laundry soap (do not worry, the vinegar smell is not in your clothes), glass cleaner, bath and shower cleaners, toilet (baking soda) and floor cleaner (diluted vinegar) .

In the laundry room, there are several possibilities , Is green. Weather permitting, hang your clothes on a clothesline or wooden frame. Are you concerned about stiffness, add a half cup of vinegar to your rinse cycle, and once they are dry, they will receive from the line. Keep them outside for more than their drying time leads to the stiffness. If you have an electric dryer, you can create a filter for the pipe, lint opens, the heat, but keep the lint in the pipe. This is a cheap (about $ 15-20) way to help in the heating of your home and give your thermostat a little lint break.

Empty your case every time, if your dryer. My dryer consumes less energy than the lint trap is clean and the laundry is not overloaded in the dryer. For those of you who saen the smell of your softener, you can create your own with essential oils and a little vinegar. Any citrus oil works great, so does lavender. Once your clothes are dry on the track or in the dryer it on a hanger, fast. This cuts down on the elements that need ironing, which saves time, energy and electricity (and let's face it, ironing is boring) .

In the bathroom soda can be used to clean the tub, shower, toilet and sink. Vinegar and a little newspaper can be used to clean the mirror. Vinegar can also be used to wipe the floor. For a really bright Klosettbeckens, a dump regelmaigen coke. I do not know why, but it makes your bowl shine.

In the kitchen, vinegar can be used to clean a slow drip, dirty coffee machine, like a floor cleaner (diluted). Soda shines the sink and faucet. Spray the counter with vinegar to clean it as a natural pest repellent. We have a problem when the seasons change with ants. The vinegar keeps it from my counter. Twice a year, pull out your equipment and clean behind them. The refrigerator is more efficient if the coils are clean and the drip pan is empty.

In bedroom, flip your pillow and mattress 4 times a year. You can create a house made of fabric refresher courses with distilled water and any essential oil of your choice. If you live in the north like me, you know, there are summer and winter curtains drapes, curtains winter is harder to keep the cold out of the house. A cheap and easy way to insulate your windows for the winter, the fog your windows with water and take bubble wrap and cover the window. The fog keeps the bubble wrap in the whole winter. Come spring, you can roll them up, and save for the next winter.

These are just a few ideas for a greener cleaning house. I hope you can some of these changes in your own home.

The E Coli Disaster

Dead rats shovelled into sausage grinders; bribed inspectors; diseased cows slaughtered for beef; swept dirt and courage of the word sold as a "potted ham" --- expos of Chicago's meat-packing industry in Upton Sinclair " The Jungle, "Published in 1906. A public outcry called for reforms in the meat industry. Congress responded with the creation of the Pure Food and Drug Act and the post-mortem Act of 1906, which later became the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) .

Crippled and sick cows electrically prodded and forklifted into the slaughterhouse to be processed and packed for the sale of Westland /Hallmark Meat Company of California, E. coli contaminated beef used lunch in the school programs; federal judge blocked to oppose the interim Nebraska Beef from the USDA argues that serious food safety violations justified closure of the plant, close to a million Pounds of beef recalled for E. coli contamination --- today.

Something is not correct. We have two agencies shared responsibility for food safety, the Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nor our food is dangerous for our health.

According to an article in the Washington Post, (August 10, 2008), "Nebraska Beef has a contentious history with the USDA. Over the last six years, federal meat inspectors repeatedly written against it Verstae hygiene, and the company has fought back. From September 2002 to February 2003, USDA shutdown of the plant three times for Problems such as feces on carcasses, water dripping from pipes in meat, peeling paint on equipment and plugged-up meat wash sinks. "

Nebraska beef has used such high-risk beef parts like brain and spinal cord in meat processed. Brain and spinal cord are at risk for mad cow disease. The group Environment, Food and Water Watch, complained to the Department of Agriculture and Food Safety and Inspection Service does not deal with Nebraska meat hard enough, especially given the long list of abuses by the meat. According to Human Rights Watch, Nebraska Beef, Ltd. is a privately held company that does not file annual reports with the U.S. Federal Securities and Exchange Commission. Nebraska Beef was founded in 1995 by a group of investors led by company president William Hughes in alliance with Lee Day Inc., the U.S. arm of Nippon Ham of Japan. Hughes had previously served as Executive Vice President of Beef America, had repeatedly sanitation violations, including contamination of meat with fecal matter. Beef America has since filed for bankruptcy. Beef.

Even Hughes in Nebraska with all the advertising for the serious violations of Nebraska beef, Coleman Natural Foods, advertises itself as a pioneer in natural and organic livestock practices increase, began sending its beef to Nebraska for the processing of beef. Coleman Natural Foods is a supplier of beef to the organic food store, Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods Market said , It was not aware that Coleman natural foods, under a new owner, had started with the infamous Nebraska Beef. Whole Foods was the latest retailers, the E. coli contamination traced back to Nebraska Beef. What is the point of Increase beef from organic farming when it was made by a ruthless slaughterhouse and meat packing companies such as Nebraska Beef?

The USDA advice to consumers in danger? Buy a meat thermometer. "This is another example of a federal system has broken that not enough resources to the termination of the problem, "said Jaydee Hanson, political director at the Center for Food Safety in Washington.

What really needed is a public outcry from 1906.

Drinking Water Containers - Why Plastic Bottles Have Got to Go!

The late, great comedian, George Carlin, used to do a comedy bit about how people he saw, he turned everywhere, with a bottle of water. He interrupted this routine with a funny angry question: "Only when all got so thirsty?" So funny as it was, will his observations about the increase of people who bring their own drinking water container indicates a serious problem: plastic water bottles have become one of the graten source of air pollution in the U.S. plastic bottles have to go!

In recent years bottled water has become one of the giants of the beverage industry. As the Americans continue to demand clean drinking water, this industry has fully-throttle, to ensure that each and every person is able to establish their own drinking water containers, when and where they want it. Unfortunately, full-throttle "means that more than 60000000 plastic bottles produced, transported and disposed of every day in the U.S. alone!

Don't get me wrong. I like the convenience of clean drinking water from my own drinking water container. However, there is no evidence that bottled water is any cleaner than most tap water. The government does not even require mineral water any safer or purer than tap water. So, what you buy (and I'm guilty) is a slick advertising concept, which makes it seem as if they were bottled water bubbled just a mountain spring. And then you are stuck with to dispose of these polluting plastic.

So, this means that personal drinking water containers are a bad idea? Absolutely not! You can still drink clean, filtered water comfort of your own personal water containers. All you have to do is to use drinking water containers, for use over and over again. The best reusable containers are made glass.

Besides 100% recyclable, glass containers or other benefits. Glass preserves the taste and purity of water filtered. Water in plastic bottles risks becoming contaminated by-products from plastic, such as BPA and phthalate. Because these substances leach from the plastic, the water loses its taste and purity. Glass has none of these problem.

And let us not forget that after filling and re-use of these water tanks will mean more money in your pocket. If you buy bottled water on a regelmaigen basis, it can expensive.

There is also a psychological advantage glass drinking water containers If you are thirsty and looking in the refrigerator for something good to drink, and you spot a crystal clear, cold glass container with water, you will instinctively reach. Drink more clean, healthy water is one of the best ways to promote good health.

These non-polluting drinking water containers are easily accessible by most serious water filtration system manufacturer. You can find these providers, as I did, with just a few simple research. If your drinking filtered water, conveniently from your own reusable containers are drinking you are doing themselves and our planet a great favor.

Live Off Your Land - Fifteen Steps You Can Take to Get Out of the Cubicle and Onto Self-Reliance

Want to live your country? More people are pursuing a lifestyle of self-reliance, depending on themselves for their life and makes a living by homesteading. If you long to get out of the office treadmill and on your own country, here are fifteen decisive steps you should pursue your life of freedom:

Get out of debt

As each farmer will tell you it was because you have a company with hundreds if not thousands of acres, you will not make a fabulous income from the country. Those farmers who do own hundreds of acres and thousands of dollar worth of equipment (together with the mortgages to prove) are struggling to pass through. The secret is simply to live and downsize. Selling that newer cars with high car payments and buy a used model, preferably with no payments. Stop eating out and so much use that extra money to pay your loans.

Get some country

You do not need hundreds of acres, but if you want to live in your country, you need at least five . You should have enough space for a large garden, along with several farm animals. Live in the city? Consider the sale or lease the house and buying a used manufactured home on a small area. Many people do and live quite comfortably - and debt free.

Find out your own food

Put in many raised beds and grow potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and other vegetables. Learn Get your food canning industry, drying and freezing, so you go to your pantry instead of the grocery store, a reduction of costs and time.

Raise chickens

These wonderful birds provide you with eggs, meat and increase income even if you have enough of them. Fresh chicken eggs are easy to sell. These eggs are delicious, and if they come from chickens, are usually eaten grass and insects - chickens, hens live in tractors, for example - they are also much healthier and more valuable than the store-bought brand.

Get Your goat

Goats provide you with milk, meat and cheese. Control over their diet - only hay and grain - and your goat milk tastes just like cow's milk, only saer. Plus, many people are carrying out the health benefits of raw goat's milk, leading to a marketable product. Get two or three female goats - or is - together with a billy goat, and you have enough milk for your family and a few extra to sell to diversify your cost.

to sell

Many people, try to live the country make the mistake that a single product in large supply and then sell them. But if the crop fails, then you are in trouble. Instead, it raises a small supply of several items for sale. Selling chicken eggs and goat's milk, honey and produce when it's in season. In this way, if an item is not on, you have other recourse on.

Avoid the exotic

A a few years ago, raising ostriches were all rage. At least they were until they realized this increase is not many people are willing to eat ostrich meat. It is much wiser to keep up with the standard fare - chicken, pork and beef, for example. Raising something unusual, and in the hope that it rich - how many get-rich-quick schemes can you usually with an empty wallet and an animal nobody wants, and you need only feed.

Raise , what you want, eat

This goes with the example above the sand. If you do not sell hundreds of bushels of Swiss chard, then be ready to eat. If you do not enjoy that much, then not grow them.

Be prepared to learn a new trade round

My grandfather was a plumber, and also during the Depression, he thrived. In hard times, people might not need an insurance barrel, but they need someone who can fix their leaky pipes. Consider the learning carpentry, electricity or mechanics. Learn practical, useful items that you can sell or barter trade with.

Simplify

Do you really need three TVs? They use electricity, even if they are not running. How about that 3,000 square foot home? Are you really need all that space, and everything you need to fill accumulated disorder? Learn to live on less. Cleaning and protecting all these things simply takes precious time and money.

Give Up driving

You not be able to successfully home when you are driving into the city every day for one thing or another . If you are a football parent and tries to Homestead, you are going to be exhausted in a hurry. Care for the animals is a full-time job, you need to spend much time in your country. In addition, the gas and wear on your car is expensive. If you do not like to stay at home, the home life may not be used for you.

Do not go alone

Don't try home from you. Accidents can happen, and if you live in the country, there will be some neighbors, you hear call for help. If you are single, do you find one or two like-minded individuals, with room and let expenses.

Join a group

Find others in your area passionate about homesteading. Looking for a local group or online startup. Go to your feed nearby store and see if they offer classes in animal husbandry. Sign up for an organic gardening class. All these get in touch with people who can exchange information and work with you, the you.

return

Be ready to help, just starting. There is an old saying that rings true: what goes around comes around. Make sure that what you are talking about is positive, rather than negative.

Embrace hard work

The home life is wonderful, but it requires a lot of hard, physical work. They are lifting bales of hay, abseiling contrary critters and moving chicken tractors. I personally love the hard work (and I get great sleep every night), but if you prefer, a desk job, then of course the homesteading life probably is not you.

Think can do for you these fifteen things? Then start working on exit from the debt and go forward! A life in freedom and purpose expected you.

Do You Love Animals? Then Eat Beef From US Grass Fed Cattle

I'm an animal lover. But I eat beef. I did it once for two years, but I can honestly say I did not feel better, and I actually gained weight protein is trying to replace beef with beans and filling carbohydrates. I still have the highest respect for vegetarians, however, and I admire their way of life. But at this stage it is not me.

Why do I say eat beef from U.S. Fed Cattle Grass?

You're probably wonder why I would recommend consumption of U.S. beef from grass-fed cattle. The answer is simple: I would like to see the animals, which ultimately maintain me and my way (people) to live a decent, normal life in a way that makes them so happy as they can while they still here.

The terrible life of a feedlot steer

The beef that you buy at the supermarket comes from factory farms or feedlots as they are called in the industry. Cattle feed lots are one of the worst nightmare. They are overcrowded, noisy, dirty places. Livestock are in the spring, among thousands of other animals, jammed packed into an area that is definitely not big enough. It is like a prisoner in one of the graten prisons in the world.

The cattle are forced to eat grains, even to themselves, they would eat grasses. The fact is that when cattle eat grains (maize, soya, etc), this leads major problems in her digestive tract, and can even kill. Not pleasant for them to all.

To combat these problems, they will routinemaig antibiotics. Also not pleasant for them, nor for the people who ultimately will ingest they buy when they are meat from the supermarket. The feedlot cattle must also put up with injections of hormones to fatten them faster, most definitely not the way of nature intended.

The life of a free-range, U.S. Fed Grass Steer

Free palette, U.S. grass-fed cattle are allowed to walk and browse, where they feast on grasses, which are in harmony with their digestive systems. This is what they want to eat, and that is what they were eat.

They not everyone forcing them to eat grains. You do not have to take drugs to enable them healthy. You do not have to be injected with hormones.

These are happy cattle. And I support the idea of eating grass-fed U.S. beef on the type sold in supermarkets, because, if I can help cattle and other animals live their lives in a happy and natural way, I will do so at every opportunity.

Going Green to Protect Your Identity

Going Green - OK, so that the thing to do and everyone, every person who has already changed all the light bulbs in their home. Yes, I also I try to drive my car less (and not only because of expensive gas "every day"), but because it's the right thing to do, I can not say that I am a poster boy or something similar, but I endeavour. As I think most of us do. I know you are already say what is the purpose of my walks, good, I went green about three years for a very selfish reason, you see, I would like to fish (catch and release), but I'm cheap and bait ... well, if you fish you know, the costs and not only the cost but will go to the store fishing bait takes time. So I get the idea that a worm bin full of the right in my backyard would be the way to go, and guess what it is.

Not only, I have worms for fishing and the casings (carton product worm looks like dirt , Really good dirt) for the garden, I have noticed that all the credit card and offers all the junk mail (I get every day "), together with a small kitchen waste make great worm food. I know, I know what a dispute, and yes it is a little work evolved, you have to do a separate kitchen waste. I did this by a bucket under the sink and whenever I make coffee, I raised the use of filters and grinding on the ocean, together with all the old hard bread or uneaten Frito's, chips or the like. old pasta and vegetables, other remains of the bucket to the day I feed the bucket content to the worms. (In other words, no smell no rotting food under the sink) Our family of three adults fills a bucket (3Lb) once per week, so I feed the worms once week.

What on junk mail, ask ... Well, as you know, worms need something to live in (you know how the soil), I have some old lumber I found that a worm bin 2'X3'x1, "OK ... it is a wooden box with a lid, worm bin sounds better, seems that worms are not too smart and do not know the difference between dirt (soil) and a wooden box filled with wet shredded junk mail, would have thought. Shred all my junk mail, as I am sure that in this high-tech day and age of identity theft (they get your name and information from your garbage) and the worms turn it into the dirt my wife used To search their large garden (big savings on the packed dirt in the home improvement store) Worms reproduce fairly quickly my attitude supply of fishing bait right in hand. A good source for more information, Worms Eat My Garbage by Mary Appelhof. There are many articles on worms and the benefits of worm farming available online or in your local book store. If you fish it's like money in your pocket.

How to Live Green - Tips to Help the Environment

Are you are interested in "green?" Every time you see on television about something green and what government and big companies should do to help the environment. Any person who makes an effort can make a difference. Many people are overwhelmed by the idea completely changed their way of life and resist change because they believe difficult.

Just to remember the motto: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. It is that simple!

  • Reduce your consumption and the amount of trash you discard. When shopping, buy products that have minimal packaging, thus less waste at the landfill. Buy local products, transport costs are minimal. And buying products that last for a long time.

  • Reuse containers and durable products. If you can not use, pass them along to someone. When it broke see if you can fix them before buying a new or give /sell to someone. (It is usually cheaper to repair something to buy than a new one.) Re-use products can be better than recycling, because the stored energy, not again, before they can be used again.

  • recycle as much as you can. It is not just about soda cans at the local grocery store for Nickels. Today, you can recycle almost everything you can remember, from cars to garages falling down to the old furniture, someone wants to get rid of what you want. You can even recycle your kitchen waste and excerpts from court with a compost bin in your garden. Purchase of products from recycled materials also saves resources.

There are many other things that we all can do to our lesson impact on the environment and minimal changes in lifestyle habits. For more ideas and tips you find here on http://greentipsforyou.com/ Greening Happy!

Global Warming Or Not - Three Easy Ways Everyone Can Go Green

It is almost impossible these days to open the newspaper, turn on the TV or radio to hear without a headline or hearing someone comment on global warming. It is clear that a large part of the evidence we see in the media is now a central point of his existence. Polars ice seem to be back, sea levels appear to be rising, and deadly hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes and are constantly in the news. At the same time, there are many signs that we are experiencing a natural warming trend. In the last two years, there were several regional records, the coldest temperatures on record and in the amount of snow precipitation.

Here in Mendon, Utah, is near the end of July, and there are several small packages of snow visible summit of the magnificent Wellsville Mountains. In my view, the jury is not yet on the possibility that global temperatures are rising due to human industrialization. However, I am firmly convinced we as human-beings have an obligation to act responsibly with the earth's natural resources. And I believe there are many simple ways each of us can do our part.

Recycle. The recycling effort. It is without question much easier to throw, just what we do not want or need in our garbage can and let the district or the city make it magically disappear. Recycling in the normally include the storage and then pulls the recyclable items to accept that sites is what we want to recycle. Some are fortunate enough to have recycling programs offered to their curbside. In our place of business, we have different boxes or bins for paper, cardboard, aluminum and plastic. Once the pile is too large to handle, either I or someone else will bag the goods and haul them to our house or other collection points. It requires effort. As we throw it, we might as well him in the hands of other industries, a need for these materials. We can do something, either now or we can wait several hundred years for aluminium, glass, plastic and break-down. Other elements, we are recycling printer cartridges, glass, used car oil, and "green" electricity waste.

Conserve. This is an important issue in our home with four boys under the age of eleven runs. I think we all understand that electricity by burning coal, natural gas, or by splitting atoms. More and more electricity is on renewable resources such as hydropower plants, wind farms and solar systems. So it is natural that the more electricity we use more of our precious natural resources in its generation and the more pollutants released into our atmosphere. Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) use less than a quarter of the electricity needed to power a traditional light bulb. Using Energy Star appliances will also reduce our energy consumption. The purchase of a programmable thermostat makes it easy to heat or cool our homes if we really do not need it if we are usually at work, sleeping, or on holiday. Just think of all the electronic gadgets you even now that were not available when you were growing up. These are all connected 24 /7 and the suction power. There are many creative ways that we can use less and lower bills.

Do not our waste. Let's face it - Litter is ugly. I spent two years in the service of my church as a missionary in the north German countryside. Each week we would strive for at least four hours community service. I spent six months in Bielefeld and we did not always have ample opportunities to serve in this particular place, we would spend a significant part of our service times to pick up trash around the park, our apartment complex, or the U-Bahn station. I think Germany and Europe in general as much cleaner than most of the United States, we still collected tons and tons of garbage. It beautified our surroundings, and we felt good. If each of us threw all our own waste in the garbage - there would be no waste. That sounds like common sense, but if each of us just concentrate on ourselves, we would see a huge improvement of the natural beauty of our surroundings.

These points are not new. We have all heard before, but hopefully they will cause you pause and reflect on what you can in your own world. I do not know whether the polar bears are extinct in 40 years, or if Miami is 50 meters above sea water sometime, but I think there are many things we can do today to respect and live in harmony with the earth, we call home.

Sustainable Design at Sony

Published in 1973 during the energy crisis, economist EF Schumacher collection of essays "Small is Beautiful: Economics as if people have a role" helped, the idea of sustainable design. Thirty-some years later, when another energy crisis looms, the idea is once again gaining steam and integrated by companies such as Sony.

Spurred by the population boom and the decline of available resources, sustainable design is the art of creating products that meet Use of non-renewable resources and to minimise environmental impact. The idea is new and unique ways to not only our way of life - but the world itself through the use of innovative design elements, sustainable less harmful devices replace conventional processes for ones.

Launched in 2006 the idea behind Sony & # 39; s "Odo" design concept is to create unique toys, powered by kinetic energy. While not currently sold on the market, these products are an exercise in creative thinking on better ways to develop products in the future. The Sony Web site advertises that the devices offer new experiences, a sense of social consciousness and environmental values, and inspiration in the forward-looking ways, which strengthens its value even more. " Demonstration of sustainable design in action, "Odo" Prototypes saw a future if innovative products produced are useful, visually appealing and socially responsible.

Currently, "Odo" products are five different toys. The crank N 'Capture video camera is by turning the crank on the side to shoot and playback. The Spin N 'Snap digital camera (pictured) is powered by sticking a finger through the two holes and spinning the camera at the end of the end. The push-Power Play photo and video viewer by pressing the viewer on its bottom-casters, and the pull-N 'Play stereo headphones have a built-in FM radio and the power supply by drawing a Cord in the housing market. Finally, the Juice Box solar battery collect sunlight and can be used as a portable battery for the other "Odo" devices.

Along involving the use of kinetic energy, "Odo" products are made from recycled and vegetable juices plastic, with parts combination of natural rubber Bands - minimizing the use of screws and simplifying the assembly. "Odo" products are designed for children, and together with colorful and fun to use, Sony hopes that they learn to problems of children growing importance - such as effects on the environment and energy resources. And, hopefully, such as sustainable design is more than a momentary trend fuel and, finally, the next generation of inventions and new technologies.

An Uphill Battle - Protecting the Marine Environment in Brazil

There there are some national and state marine parks protection of off-shore islands. But most of its more than 7300 km coastline remains unprotected. As in many other countries, there are conflicts between coastal settlement, tourism, commercial fishing, the oil industry and the need to protect the marine environment. We had the opportunity to go with the Secretario Meio Ambiental's boat "Sterna" in one of its patrols. Their main task is the enforcement of fishing regulations along the coast of Sao Paulo in southeast Brazil. The State Marine Park Laje de Santos, a few islands not far from the main port of Santos States, was in 1993. But it was not properly checked before the local environmental authority has an inflatable in 2005. Until then the marine park was more or less in the hands of the fishing industry. At least during the week-days.

In principle the control of non-fishing zone was referring to dive operators, the fire brigade, the police or the navy if they had some vessels in the region, says Julio Vellardi, Director of the Laje de Santos marine park.

The first few trips with their hard-won for RIB they caught 36 fishing vessels fishing illegally in the park across. Last year, they could finally a 38 foot boat to ordnungsgemaen control of the park and other non-fishing areas along their stretch of the Brazilian coast.

A good example of lack of protection of the marine environment is the coast of So Paulo state in southern Brazil.

- Only 0.5% of the coastal waters of the Sao Paulo state is protected, sagt Vellardi.

Today there is a good cooperation between the state government and the private entrepreneurs in the region. Together with a group of local dive operators, they have an organization called AOM (Association of Dive Operators) to work together for the protection of marine environment.

Why All the Dispassion About Environmental Issues by Business People?

There are many people, environmental problems are so serious that they made their way to tell people about their passion for our eco-system. Every once in a while, if someone shows me a passionate outburst for our environment, I just roll my eyes. Why you ask?

Well, for a few reasons, I see many companies who are entitled to green, but only in name. I see many citizens are entitled to environmentally conscious and do something more than recycled, and probably only because someone them with colorful trash containers. Hey, do not laugh, I'm serious.

Regarding be dispassionate look at me, let me tell you why. I have over the years worked hard to make our company "pollution-free" and have made my way a lot of money spent for research and D. However, I found myself constantly attacked by competitors, "environmentalists, and government environmental authorities. So after a while it gets old, and many entrepreneurs are less passionate.

The problem, "why should I good in the world, if nobody else cares, and I am attacked?" The answer is, of course, because it's the right thing to do, if you still have to hit, you can see that it takes a strong will, not just say 'oh forget it! "

It is like the old adage "No good deed goes unpunished." Too often, environmentalists are hypocrites and the accusation that demons are actually out of the way to innovate to solve problems and really clean air and water. Think of this.

Is Consumerism an Addictive Problem?

Consumerism

Some call an addiction, and compare it to America's addiction to foreign oil in the Middle East. And to its credit consumerism call an addiction is, in fact, the people's attention, but is it really so? Consumerism is really an addiction or is it a choice?

Not long ago, a consumer activist said that "addiction-based consumerism" is a real threat to the future of alternative energy and clean tech, also adversely affect healthy and organic foods. Well, can you take a look at this assertion, it does hold water? If consumerism defeat the conservation and want to buy green? That is to say, the desire for more and more things graer than the desire to buy only what you need and support a green lifestyle?

Yes, consumerism is a problem or obstacle on the path of the current "Clean-Green - Bio-Natural Environment-Friendly" trend, or "bubble" of course, clean technologies, products and services, with the consumption very sorry to the marketing of their products , Amazing!

So this work proves consumerism and the promotion of a green future, what works and to the "Desire" from human to want to clean stuff. How these promote green show, "Imagine a clean tomorrow, not you want a clean tomorrow, make sure that you do, you want a clean tomorrow!" and all the same marketing tactics people desire a clean and tomorrow will also buy it.

But, only if the price is right, and they can afford to pay. For example; Penske Smart Car Program has cars on scarcity and on a good piece of change. Certainly they sell, but not everyone should have, we can afford to buy. Please note that our thoughts and future.

Forests in the Sea - Kelp Beds Off San Diego, California

Although seaweed grows in many places, the kelp forests off the coast of San Diego are just some of the richest and most developed beds on Earth. Kelp is usually in areas where nutrient levels are high. This is often, if it is an upwelling of nutrients from deep waters or where nutrients are on the ground mean, but others such as Seal waste. The Grae the kelp beds vary from year to year, determined by water temperature and storm actions and various pollution and harvest.

Kelp creates patches flat on the water, like the vegetative growth dampens the wind and waves on the ocean surface. Close-up, it looks like you are moving the leaves at the top of the tree crowns. under water, it looks like a dimly lit forest with the rays of the sun piercing through a submerged forest.

The Kelp Plant

The kelp plant is one of the fastest growing plants on the ground and under ideal conditions can grow a few meters per day. He prefers water temperatures in the 50 to 65 degrees F and can take up to upwards of 120 meters. Kelp anchor to the seabed by an average of "hold" - a cluster jointly by the roots in the rocky cliffs or on what they find. As the leaves reach the surface of the water they distribute to a canopy much as trees in a forest. Often the branches of seaweed seems like deer antlers keep out of the water - perhaps the analogy is a result of the author of rural education in Canada.

The kelp bed provides a habitat for a variety of creatures, both herbivores and carnivores. It is a rich ecosystem with some of the waiver of the work itself, some eat the plants fungi in the environment, arising from the kelp bed, and some eat other animals, come to the kelp bed for food and shelter.

Use for Kelp /u>

The kelp plant will be for thousands of years and has many uses. The beds from San Diego were harvested from 1911, which continued until 2005, when operations are no longer due to the economic issues.

Kelp is very rich in iodine and extracts are used for treatment of thyroid problems, and for the treatment of arthritis. Kelp-alginate is derived as a thickening agent for ice cream, salad dressing and toothpaste, and a variety of other products. literally, this is common in dozens of consumable materials used each day.

shipping around Kelp

The expand kelp beds, a few miles off the coast of San Diego, but they are from the prevailing Point Loma. While boating, it is necessary to be careful venturing too deeply in seaweed for a number of reasons:

  • May seaweed wrap around the keel-boat or jet propeller shaft and you may get stuck,

A History of Industrial Recycling

The word "recycling" make many people think, the little blue boxes, where our old cereal boxes, empty soda cans, paper and unneeded. But actually needs the recycling many other forms: for example, the shape of a golf course in a landfill, a piece of modern art from old tin cans, or World War II-era rubber recycling helped the war effort. Similarly, many often think of it as a development in connection with the environmental movement that began in the 1970s and 1980s, in fact, it's something older.

When have the first recycling? Well, nobody knows safe, but it probably starts at the same time as a permanent human civilizations do, that's according to recent estimates, about twelve thousand years. Against this, for most of the history of Homo sapiens (and other related humanoid species), the people lived in roving hunter-gatherer groups, and garbage was not a problem. But companies began settled about 10000 BC, the problem of trash disposal for the first time. By 400 BC, the ancient Athenians had a municipal garbage dump, four years later the Romans was the first "garbage collection" groups of two men, went along the streets, garbage feeders in a wagon.

Compost is one of the oldest forms of Recycling. Early in the history of agriculture, people discovered that the organic matter of various kinds-downed trees, dead plants, human and animal waste-are useful for the enrichment of the soil. The nutrients to keep that these organisms healthy, while alive, can enrich other life forms in the organism death. This discovery was the backbone of the agricultural life for thousands of years.

In Middle Ages, recycling has an interesting form: paper was extremely rare and expensive, so that old books and manuscripts were often reused for more contemporary purposes. Monasteries, for example, would the old books and turn them inside out, re-use them up breviaries, catalogues and other practical documents. In this way, researchers have discovered many parts of once lost works: Take a medieval book apart, and you can find that messages from an even-more-ancient work.

Recycling formally began in the United States as early as 1690, With a mill for recycling of paper in Philadelphia, the Rittenhouse family. The birth of metal recycling, meanwhile, may be closely related to the birth of patriotism that led to the American Revolution: New York City patriots melted a statue of the British King George III, spheres which are then used, of course, undermine the power of the same king of the thirteen colonies. New York City, where the site of the first recycling center in the United States little more than a century later, in 1897.

During twentieth century, the aluminum can all but omnipresent. Introduced in 1935 by a Richmond, Virginia, beer companies, the doses offered consumers a convenient, GULP-Grae serving drinks while cutting the break and departure of glass bottles. By 1968, however, they produce such a disposal problem that the aluminum recycling industry began its goods. Aluminum recycling reduces CO2 production to the manufacture of aluminium ninety-five percent and reduced the need for the production of pure ore During the 1970s, many states have helped this process along by laws offer nickel and dime-sized incentives for consumers to return aluminum products.

University City, Missouri, was the first city to introduce city-wide curbside recycling in 1974. By the early 1990s, another U.S. city, San Francisco, met its goal of recycling twenty-five percent of its wastes.

Other often recycled items are made of steel and glass. Bits of old buildings or cars are shredded by machines, sorted, re-melted and refined, then sold in sheets or rolls. Twenty-five percent of U.S. steel is recycled. Glass jars and bottles (though usually less windows and light bulbs) are also ground to bits, melted and reformed.

Human Activity - Or is it Human?

Today we live in a world in the worldwide population, and increased human activity, gradually affect our environment. We are the only creatures only life form on Earth, which is capable of altering the physical and biological properties on the earth today. It is our natural human instinct and intellect to explore new ways and invent new technologies, which continue to revolutionize the world, at any price, and this is the case since early man's existence. It is our own human activity, this brings new challenges and causeing new problems in our environment today.

Dating back to the early 1600 -1900, s, the vast majority of people or settlers were farmers, live their lives in pieces of land which they had bought, and were completely independent in their own resources. Economics does not dictate how they lived their lives because they were completely self-sufficient. In today's world in which we the people are completely different from economy and the stability and growth of our economy, and that really control any action, as we live our lives.

Since the time of our early settlers, that they were forced to Amend, As, the birth of the industrial revolution and man's willingness to even better captures the world. Some of the most significant progress in this time when the use of fossil fuels, steam power plant (fueled by coal), the introduction of canals, roads, railways and the opening of trade. All these things would change the world forever. With these tools in the hands of human technology and economic progress has really gain momentum, and we would soon see the development of steam powered ships, trains, the internal combustion engine and electric power generation .

so, where is leaving us today? The

Well we as a people have our own new habitat fell from the open spaces with large urban dwellers live in cities with one million people or more. The ever-growing world population enjoys all the luxuries than man, but it is a luxury, they are a great influence on our climate today worlds. We are very concerned about our daily obligations, such as the payment of bills, putting food on the table and save money for retirement, so sure that our children a good education, we can not make time to address the problems, just as important as our environment. This is what I mean when I say we are controlled and consumed by the economic .

The attitude of old is in a commercial transaction with chemical on crops to accelerate and promote growth. The average farmer today simply can not afford to do crop rotation (no seeds for one year) to give his country a chance to replenish itself, because of rising costs for fuel and poor prices for cereals. So they are forced to pump chemicals such as nitrogen into the soil to drive the growth of the crop, whatever they are sowing. How long will this earth, before they completely burnt out all natural nutrients. There was also growing concern about the medical effects of pesticides, genetically modified organisms and hormones in meat and dairy products. Animals that are raised for human consumption growth fed pellets along with their normal diet to produce more mass faster, so they can benefit from and shipping. Everything in our natural environment is pushed to its maximum capacity. Our once clean lakes and rivers are polluted slowly from companies in the industry, factories, cities, destroying not only the water, but all that life in her. How many fresh water lakes you have in your area? .

So all things considered, things really do not see that from a major environmental stand. Many might argue that its not going to happen in my life time so why worry?. That may be true, but what is also true greenhouse-gas-producing global warming, which in turn, and already is, induce climate change. "Human activity" is really impact on climate change, and it is high time that our governments and politions, accepted the head from the sand and began to bills to help restore our environment, instead of as an instrument for political gain. Until the environment is taken seriously from a political point will be little progress made.

As one analyst conference once said that the grate threat to human existence on earth is "us" .
